Arizona Mountain Region Dinner – Wednesday, July 14, 2021

Celebrate summer and reopening of social events with your friends from Prescott Chapter AZM at Los Pinos Mexican Restaurant on July14, 2021 4:30 pm -7:00 pm.

Los Pinos is located at 1245 White Spar Rd, Prescott.

 

Happy hour starts at 4:30 pm. Dinner at 5:30 pm.
We will have a private dining area on the enclosed creek-side patio. You can order off the menu and separate checks will be provided. Attendance will be limited to only 40 people to allow for plenty of space.

Alcantara Vineyards and Winery Drive and Lunch – Sunday, April 11th 2021

This drive will take us to the Alcantara Vineyards and Winery in the Verde Valley for lunch and a pleasant afternoon. https://alcantaravineyard.com/

This will be the Regions first “formal” lunch drive since the Covid-19 restrictions started a year ago. 

Lunch will be outdoors overlooking the Verde River in a covered pavilion. Order lunch off the menu and enjoy their wines!  There will be live music to enhance your afternoon. There will be plenty of space for social distancing. They have a number of menu choices, many more than appear on their web site.

Plan to meet in the parking lot at the Maverick Gas Station in Dewey. (1344 Prescott Country Club Blvd) by 10:00 am for a 10:15 am departure. We should arrive at Alcantara Vineyards around 11:30 am.

The route will cross Mingus Mountain, through Clarkdale and Old Town Cottonwood before arriving at Alcatara Vineyards, which is just off Highway 260 between Cottonwood and I-17.

The drive route will be approximately 45 miles and will last about 1 hour, plus return home.  The drive will officially end at Alcantara Vineyards so people can stay as long as they like before heading home.

With the continuing number of Covid-19 cases, please remain in your car at the start. There will be no formal drivers’ meeting. Route and driving instructions will be emailed in advance. Masks are still required when social distancing cannot be maintained.

The club leadership believes this is still appropriate to help insure the health and safety of the members. Someone will come to your car with the driving waiver to sign.

Petrified Forest/Painted Desert/La Posada Tour-May 13–14 2021

Join the club on a tour to the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert with Dinner and Overnight at La Posada in Winslow, AZ.

 

 

 

 

 

Our tour will begin in Prescott, stopping in Camp Verde for Flagstaff and Verde Valley members to join up. Then we’ll head up Highway 260 and on through Pine, Payson and the White Mountains to Heber/Overgaard where we’ll turn north up to the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert.

Bring your Golden Eagle/Golden Age/Senior passes for free entry to these parks.

After our visit to these two scenic and amazing parks we will proceed to La Posada in Winslow. http://laposada.org/ La Posada is a historic railroad hotel and landmark where we will have dinner at the Turquoise Room and spend the night.

The tour will depart from Prescott at 8am from the Maverick gas station in Dewey. Please be there ready to go by 7:45am for the drivers meeting. The route will stop in Camp Verde at the Burger King on Highway 260 just a couple blocks East from the I-17 exit for members joining the drive from other areas. Please be at Burger King no later than 8:15 am. The route will continue on AZ 260 to AZ 87 into Payson with a break at the Speedway gas station on Highway 260 (701 AZ-260). Lunch will be at the Painted Desert Diner.

The entire drive will be on Porsche-friendly paved roads, no off-roading!

The following day the group will depart La Posada at 10 am for a fun and scenic return via Highways 87 and 260 back into Camp Verde and then on to home.

Action Required. This is a self-pay event.

  1. Contact La Posada (928) 289-4366 and make your room reservation. A block of 12 rooms is being held at various price levels under “Arizona Mountain Region Porsche”. Rooms will be held until March 29th, and then released. First come, first served and we cannot expect much availability after the block is released March 29th.

Verde Valley Drive and BYO Picnic – March 15th, 2021

Let’s go for a jaunt and BYO picnic lunch through the Verde Valley!

Plan to meet in the parking lot at the Maverick Gas Station in Dewey. (1344 Prescott Country Club Blvd) by 9:45 am for a 10:00 am departure.

The route will cover AZ-169 to I-17 to AZ 179, then on Beaverhead Flat Road and on through Page Springs and Cornville. We will return to Camp Verde for a BYO picnic lunch at the ramada at Fort Verde. Or you can pick up lunch at a restaurant in Camp Verde.

The drive route will be approximately 100 miles and will last about 2 hours, plus return home.

Albert Padilla Memorial Drive – January 23, 2021

Pine Trees to Joshua Trees. . . and back again.

Let’s go see some scenery!  And great roads!
Plan to meet in the parking lot at the Safeway grocery store on White Spar and Copper Basin by 9:30am for a 9:45 am departure.

The route will cover Highway 89 South (White Spar road) to Congress to US 93 to AZ State Route 97 to Bagdad for a short break.  Then return to Prescott via AZ 96.

The route will be approximately 160 miles and will last about 3 hours with the break in Bagdad. You should be back in Prescott before 1:00 pm. There is no lunch stop planned for this drive.

With the rapid increase in Covid-19 cases, please remain in your car at the start.  There will be no formal drivers’ meeting. Route and driving instructions will be emailed in advance.

The club leadership believes this is appropriate to help insure the health and safety of the members. Someone will come to your car with the driving waiver to sign.

Drive for Donations – Saturday, December 12th, 2020

Arizona Mountain Region “Drive for Donations”
Saturday, December 12th
“Physical Distancing and Social Engagement.”

With the increasing cases of Covid-19 in Arizona, this year there will be a “Drive for Donations” for the Yavapai County Food Bank in lieu of a holiday party. And you don’t even have to drive to donate!

There are many people in Yavapai County who are struggling during the pandemic, the food pantry shelves are bare, and you can help! We have supported the Yavapai County Food Bank in the past, and we all need to step up again!
Please join us for a fun drive on December 12th and donate to the Yavapai County Food Bank. The Yavapai County Food Bank is a 501(c)(3) organization.

When you register for this event on MSR, you will make a $25 donation per person.  This is less than what a holiday dinner event might have cost. Please consider also making an additional donation, the need is great. Additional donation checks will be collected during the drive (checks made out to Yavapai County Food Bank).The drive will depart at 10:00 am from the Maverick Station at Fain Road and Highway 69.  Please arrive at 9:30 am for the drivers’ meeting. The route will take us over Mingus Mountain, through Jerome, Clarkdale, Old Town Cottonwood, Page Springs, Village of Oak Creek and ending in Camp Verde at the Community Center Park, where the raffle drawing will be held. There are a number of places along the route to join in the drive.  If you are joining along the route, please contact Bob Frith at bob911az@gmail.com to coordinate.

Bagdad Drive and Lunch – November 18th, 2020

Mark your calendar for Wednesday, November 18th! A fun drive out to Bagdad followed by lunch at the Copper Country Bar & Grill. There is no charge to register for this event, but please register on MotorsportReg so we have a headcount.

Details:
Wednesday, November 18th, meet at 9:30AM in the parking lot area close to Pangea Bakery    located at Gail Gardner Way & Iron Springs Rd in Prescott. Drivers meeting and PCA waiver    signing, etc. prior to departure at 10:00AM with arrival at the restaurant in Bagdad around 11:30AM.
It is anticipated that we will run two drive groups departing a few minutes apart.          

Due to Covid-19 restrictions this event will be limited to 50 people.

The Copper Canyon Grill will set up outdoors dining to help with social distancing requirements.
Return drive will end at Kirkland so people can choose either route back into Prescott.

Prescott Show & Shine! Sunday October 25, 2020

The event will run from 9 am to 11 am. 
This will be an informal “Shine and Show” event, just dust off your favorite ride and bring it to Prescott for an opportunity to show it off to other members and visit with friends. After theshow we will take a fun drive on the “Prescott Loop”!

The venue is Pangea Bakery located at 1260 Gail Gardner Way (Village At The Boulders – the shopping center at Gail Gardner Way and Iron Sprigs Road)
We will be parking our cars in the southwest side of the center, adjacent to Pangea Bakery.

Join your friends for the annual New Members Celebration Picnic on Sunday, September 20th at Goldwater Lake in Prescott. What could be better than a picnic at one of Prescott’s forest lakes with fellow Porsche Club members? This picnic is especially planned for all new PCA and Arizona Mountain Region members. Come meet the club officers and Region chairs.  Learn about the Arizona Mountain Region and the events being planned. Of course, all you “old-timers” are always welcome!

Due to Covid-19 restrictions this event will be limited to only 50 people.

Plan to show up around 11:15 am for lunch at noon. Lunch will be provided by Panera Bread Co. Please make your lunch choice when you register. Beverages and water will be provided by the club. Parking passes will be distributed at the front entrance to the park. The cost is only $10 per person.
