Wings and Wheels Sedona – Saturday, Oct 2, 2021

Wings and Wheels – Sedona – October 2, 2021

“Run to the Red Rocks.”

This is an opportunity to see beautiful country and beautiful cars.

The 38th annual Sedona Car Show will be held at the Sedona Airport. Be part of the Wings and Wheels celebration which is scheduled for Saturday, October 2nd, 2021.

This year, the focus of the show is to honor the Jaguar E-Type on it’s 60th anniversary. There is also a class for vintage Jaguars.

Come along and see some cool cars and perhaps meet some of our Arizona Mountain Region members from the area.  Food trucks will be available for lunch.

No registration is required. This is a show and go tour event starting at 8:15 at the Maverick station and AZ69 and Fain Rd. in Dewey.  Please arrive by 7:45 for paperwork and drivers’ meeting. The AZM drive ends at the Sedona Airport.  You will be free to make your own way home.

Route 66 Tour – October 6-7, 2021

Join the Arizona Mountain Region October 6 & 7 for some kicks on Route 66.

Historic – Scenic – Fun for Porsche People!

We’ll depart from Ash Fork (I-40 and US 89) at 9 am on October 6. There is a gas station and the Ranch House Café in Ash Fork on the north-west corner of I-40 and US 89 where we will gather before starting out. Our tour will take us on old Route 66 to Seligman and on through Peach Springs and Hackberry before stopping for lunch in Kingman. After lunch at Dambar’s Steakhouse on Andy Devine Avenue the tour will visit Oatman. From there we will continue on through Topock on our way to Lake Havasu City.

A block of twelve rooms are being held at the Holiday Inn Express in Lake Havasu City. They are held under “Porsche Club”. They will hold the rooms until September 6 so everyone who wants a room will need to call and get it booked fairly quickly. The number to call is 928-733-6388. The address to the hotel is 40 London Bridge Road, Lake Havasu City. The rate is $159 plus tax, or you can ask for a bridge view room for an additional $10.

Dinner will be at 6 pm at Shugrues Restaurant. Their address is 1425 McCulloch Blvd N, Lake Havasu City. They will have a section of the restaurant reserved for us. We will order off the menu and each party can pay their own bill. Shugrues is a short drive from the hotel or you can take a nice 8 minute walk across the London Bridge from the hotel.

After breakfast (on your own) on Wednesday you can return home via return to Ash Fork or via US 93 and the Bagdad route.

Please register by September 28th on MSR so we can provide a headcount to the restaurants.

New Members Picnic – Sunday, September 19th, 2021


Join your friends for the annual New Members Picnic on Sunday, September 19th at Goldwater Lake in Prescott. What could be better than a picnic at one of Prescott’s forest lakes with fellow Porsche Club members? This picnic is especially planned for all new PCA and Arizona Mountain Region members. Come meet the club officers and Region chairs. Learn about the Arizona Mountain Region and the events being planned. Of course, all you “old-timers” are always welcome!


Plan to show up around 11:30 am for lunch at noon. Lunch will be catered by Big Daddy E’s BBQ at only $25 per person. Beverages and water will be provided by the club. Parking passes will be distributed at the front entrance to the park.

Drive to the Crosswinds Restaurant at the Payson Airport for Lunch

Thursday, August 19, 2021.
The Crosswinds Restaurant is located at 800 W. Airport Rd., Payson, AZ 85541.

“The Mogollon Rim provides breathtaking views overlooking an expansive forest of pine
trees. The rim is a true geological wonder hosting sedimentary, volcanic and metamorphic
rock dating back to the Precambrian era” – and the road is fantastic!
The Arizona Mountain Region will begin the drive in the Camp Verde Burger King parking
lot located just off the first round-about after eastbound exit 287 from I-17 onto Highway 260.
Arrive at 11:00 am for a Drivers Meeting and to sign the liability paperwork. A “11:30ish”
departure to Payson is expected. We will travel E. SR260 and SR87. The travel time to
Payson is about one hour.
For those driving from Prescott, the travel time from the Maverick Gas Station at Fain Road and Highway 69 to Camp Verde is about 30 minutes by taking SR169 and I17.
The drive will end at the Crosswinds Restaurant. Their meeting room is reserved for us at
1:00 pm. We will order lunch off their regular menu with individual tabs.
There is no fee for this event; however, participants will be responsible for their own
entrance fees at other facilities and meal expenses.
Please pre-register no later than August 15th so that we have an accurate headcount for

Arizona Mountain Region Dinner – Friday, July 23, 2021


Come join your friends for dinner at Augie’s Restaurant on Friday, July 23rd. This is a “make-up dinner” as the July 14th dinner event was cancelled. Dinner will be at 7 pm.

Order off the special menu when you arrive. We will be in a separate dining area. Due to space limitations, only 40 people max can be accommodated.

Alcantara Vineyards and Winery Drive and Lunch – Sunday, April 11th 2021

This drive will take us to the Alcantara Vineyards and Winery in the Verde Valley for lunch and a pleasant afternoon. https://alcantaravineyard.com/

This will be the Regions first “formal” lunch drive since the Covid-19 restrictions started a year ago. 

Lunch will be outdoors overlooking the Verde River in a covered pavilion. Order lunch off the menu and enjoy their wines!  There will be live music to enhance your afternoon. There will be plenty of space for social distancing. They have a number of menu choices, many more than appear on their web site.

Plan to meet in the parking lot at the Maverick Gas Station in Dewey. (1344 Prescott Country Club Blvd) by 10:00 am for a 10:15 am departure. We should arrive at Alcantara Vineyards around 11:30 am.

The route will cross Mingus Mountain, through Clarkdale and Old Town Cottonwood before arriving at Alcatara Vineyards, which is just off Highway 260 between Cottonwood and I-17.

The drive route will be approximately 45 miles and will last about 1 hour, plus return home.  The drive will officially end at Alcantara Vineyards so people can stay as long as they like before heading home.

With the continuing number of Covid-19 cases, please remain in your car at the start. There will be no formal drivers’ meeting. Route and driving instructions will be emailed in advance. Masks are still required when social distancing cannot be maintained.

The club leadership believes this is still appropriate to help insure the health and safety of the members. Someone will come to your car with the driving waiver to sign.

Petrified Forest/Painted Desert/La Posada Tour-May 13–14 2021

Join the club on a tour to the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert with Dinner and Overnight at La Posada in Winslow, AZ.






Our tour will begin in Prescott, stopping in Camp Verde for Flagstaff and Verde Valley members to join up. Then we’ll head up Highway 260 and on through Pine, Payson and the White Mountains to Heber/Overgaard where we’ll turn north up to the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert.

Bring your Golden Eagle/Golden Age/Senior passes for free entry to these parks.

After our visit to these two scenic and amazing parks we will proceed to La Posada in Winslow. http://laposada.org/ La Posada is a historic railroad hotel and landmark where we will have dinner at the Turquoise Room and spend the night.

The tour will depart from Prescott at 8am from the Maverick gas station in Dewey. Please be there ready to go by 7:45am for the drivers meeting. The route will stop in Camp Verde at the Burger King on Highway 260 just a couple blocks East from the I-17 exit for members joining the drive from other areas. Please be at Burger King no later than 8:15 am. The route will continue on AZ 260 to AZ 87 into Payson with a break at the Speedway gas station on Highway 260 (701 AZ-260). Lunch will be at the Painted Desert Diner.

The entire drive will be on Porsche-friendly paved roads, no off-roading!

The following day the group will depart La Posada at 10 am for a fun and scenic return via Highways 87 and 260 back into Camp Verde and then on to home.

Action Required. This is a self-pay event.

  1. Contact La Posada (928) 289-4366 and make your room reservation. A block of 12 rooms is being held at various price levels under “Arizona Mountain Region Porsche”. Rooms will be held until March 29th, and then released. First come, first served and we cannot expect much availability after the block is released March 29th.

Verde Valley Drive and BYO Picnic – March 15th, 2021

Let’s go for a jaunt and BYO picnic lunch through the Verde Valley!

Plan to meet in the parking lot at the Maverick Gas Station in Dewey. (1344 Prescott Country Club Blvd) by 9:45 am for a 10:00 am departure.

The route will cover AZ-169 to I-17 to AZ 179, then on Beaverhead Flat Road and on through Page Springs and Cornville. We will return to Camp Verde for a BYO picnic lunch at the ramada at Fort Verde. Or you can pick up lunch at a restaurant in Camp Verde.

The drive route will be approximately 100 miles and will last about 2 hours, plus return home.

With the continued number of Covid-19 cases, please remain in your car at the start. There will be no formal drivers’ meeting. Route and driving instructions will be emailed in advance. The Ramada for lunch has plenty of space for social distancing.
