CANYON VIEWS – AUGUST 2023
Come for the cars …. Continue for the people!
The FULL STURGEON SUPERMOON rises tonight and it’s the 1st of 2 supermoons this month. The Full Blue Moon comes on August 30th. No matter what superstition or myths you believe in, I say it must be good luck for all of us… Welcome to August!
We started July off with a record attendance at Porsches & Pancakes on the 8th. Over 30 members attended, so don’t forget to join us on the second Saturday of every month to get a head start on AZM News. The next one is August 12th, see you there.
We ended July at “Up the Creek” in Cornville, AZ for lunch on the 28th. The drive was iconic over the mountains in Jerome, through the towns of Clarkdale and Cottonwood and ended for an enjoyable lunch on Oak Creek. Yes, it poured rain, but it didn’t dampen our spirits.
August is packed with things to do within the region and out of it. Monterey Car Week starts on the 13th. (link below)

We also have 2 exciting Car Collection Tours scheduled. Both events sold out very quickly so we will be looking to schedule more of them since they are so popular. Keep watching the Calendar as we fill up the rest of the year with events, there is a variety so you will find something that motivates you for certain! To find out the latest regarding scheduled events, Just click HERE to access the AZM Calendar.
Please follow us on Facebook by clicking HERE and be sure to request to join our Facebook Group Facebook Group for our region:
AZ Mountain Region PC. This is a closed group — meaning you must request being added in, and the Region Facebook admins will allow all members to the group so that we can have a meaningful page where people can post discussions — parts and cars for sale, questions, comments, etc.
TODAY we are launching our Charity Event for 2023.
This year we will be supporting our community Veterans in need. You will hear about this at all our upcoming events, and I will send reminders regularly so that everyone can get involved in some way. There are 80 men and women in the VA program this year needing assistance. Our goal is to fill 80 backpacks with essentials for them, as they re-enter civilian life in our communities. $100 buys and fills a backpack, $50 fills a backpack. You can make a secure TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION HERE: DONATE HERE. Every single dollar will go to these Veterans. Please be as generous as possible so that we can meet our goal! You can contact Keith Guidus (srgovrep@aol.com) with any questions or to volunteer. Keith is the lead for this event; or simply reply to this message and I will be sure Keith gets it.
A “veteran” whether active duty, discharged, retired or reserve is someone who, at one point in their life wrote a blank check made payable to “the United States of America” for an amount of “up to and including their life”.
It is an honor to know and help those in need.
Respectfully,
Lorraine Friedman
