Welcome to the August edition of CANYON VIEWS. As we bask in the warmth of summer, we have many exciting updates to share with you. As the sun stretches its rays a little longer each day, we are in the heart of the summer, but the temps will moderate, and the fall season will start very soon. This month we’re diving into finalizing the Fall Calendar (and a surprise beyond):
August 19th There is still time to REGISTER for the Once in a Blue Moon Dinner and Moonlight Drive – Arizona Mountain Region : Porsche Club of America (pca.org). Find the details and link to register at the link above. Remember according to NASA they occur once every 2-3 years!
September 15th The New (and Old) Member Picnic is a “signature event” where each year we welcome our newest members and celebrate the growth of our club. Watch for the flyer and registration link to be sent out very soon. Annual New Member Picnic – Arizona Mountain Region : Porsche Club of America (pca.org).
September 25th-26th The La Posada overnight and trip through the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert is still available for booking. There are two rooms remaining at La Posada for the Sept 25; the room block is ours until August 25th. Contact La Posada (928) 289-4366 and make your room reservation using Group Code AZMT092524. October 18th we’re planning a trip to Flagstaff to view the Fall Colors and enjoy lunch. Stay tuned for all the details as they unfold, but the date is set.
November 1st is the trip to the Lowell Observatory– there is a NEW MOON on this date so we will be easily viewing the heavens without too much moonlight to interfere. Details are pending but mark your calendars as well.
November 16th we will host our VETERANS at the CDCE! We need all hands-on deck for this important event! Watch for an independent email communication with the details as the planning is finalized.
December 14th – don’t forget our annual HOLIDAY BASH! This year at the Capital Canyon Club @ Hassayampa 5:00-8:00 pm. Save the date was already sent on April 26th but if you forgot to MARK YOUR CALENDAR, do it today!
January 10-12 we will enjoy the Lake Havasu Balloon Fest. This spectacular event will take your breath away and we have secured a room block a very short walk from the event site. We continue to work on our ELECTIONS for the 2025 Board POSITIONS, and also still looking to fill other open volunteering positions on the Activity and Social Committees. Please consider stepping up and helping wherever you can! Reply here so we can start a dialog of where your skills are most needed!

And there you have it! Another month has danced its way into our lives leaving behind memories, sunsets, and scorching afternoons from July. August will bring its own magic, let’s unravel it together!
